Eligible institutions that cannot accept PDMA-compliant samples may request free trial units of ARISTADA INITIO® (aripiprazole lauroxil) and ARISTADA® (aripiprazole lauroxil) to provide to adult patients with schizophrenia.
Free trial units of ARISTADA INITIO and all ARISTADA doses are available for patients in the inpatient hospital or crisis stabilization unit settings of care that cannot accept PDMA-compliant samples. Follow these steps:

Trial an appropriate patient with schizophrenia with a free trial unit of ARISTADA INITIO and ARISTADA
When a unit is trialed, a replacement can be ordered. Patients may receive up to 2 free trial units of ARISTADA INITIO and ARISTADA per calendar year, subject to quantity limits*
It is important to note that medication errors, including substitution and dispensing errors, between ARISTADA INITIO and ARISTADA could occur. ARISTADA INITIO is intended for single administration in contrast to ARISTADA which is administered monthly, every 6 weeks, or every 8 weeks. Do not substitute ARISTADA INITIO for ARISTADA because of differing pharmacokinetic profiles.
There is no requirement for subsequent use of ARISTADA or any Alkermes products for any patient receiving free trials units through this program.
